The Dalian Initiative
Church Planting Among 6 Million
The Dalian Initiative is a strategy to reach Dalian, China with the gospel of Jesus Christ through strategic church planting efforts as well as to establish a base to train other men for ministry to reach other areas of the city and world.
Our Game Plan
Phase 1 – Learn the language and culture. (Completed)
The first phase of our Dalian Initiative was to learn the Chinese language and culture. After spending a considerable amount of time learning both of these we moved to Dalian and continued to learn the local differences in language and culture. We also started learning the needs
Phase 2 – Pioneer a new work. (Completed)
The second phase of our Dalian initiative resulted in the following: pioneering a new work and laying a foundation for the next phase.
- We were able to see several Chinese people saved and baptized.
- We were able to distribute many Chinese tracts, Bibles, John, and Romans.
- We were able to produce Christian material in the Chinese language–sermons, discipleship material, and lessons.
- We were able to see one local Baptist church started and a Chinese national pastor trained and leading the church.
- We were able to disciple several young men and see two go into fulltime ministry and two more
influence d by our training. - We were able to establish a Dalian Pastors Fund to help those in full-time ministry and serving in the underground church. By the end of this
phase we were supporting 3 men. - We were able to establish a base to train other missionaries for ministry in China.
Phase 3 – Build on the foundation. (Ongoing)
The third phase is to focus on building on the foundation. Our missionary partners will travel to the city to continue training the Chinese pastors. Currently, they can not live in the city do to the risk of persecution there from local officials.
